Hey Everyone, After two years of commuting back and forth from Boston I can now proudly announce that my newest CD has finally arrived. "Quintet" is a true collaboration, unlike any of my previous recordings. Dan Smith and I have been performing together since we met back in 1984. For 23 years now we have been talking about recording together, but that was all we were doing - talking! So in March of 2005 I invited Dan to come to DC from Boston and do a concert with me...and that was all it took. Well almost! Since 2005 we have been writing tunes, doing a bunch of concerts together and slipping into Peter Kontrimas' recording studio in Boston every chance we got. And now finally the results of all that hard work are available for everyone to hear. The band on this new recording is phenomenal: Charles Bubeck on vibraphone, Dan Smith on saxophones, John Baboian on guitars, Victor Belanger on bass and Brooke Sofferman on drums. Everybody except Victor contributed original compositions to the CD - and I believe we actually have enough material already recorded to do another entire CD! It was a real trip putting this recording together - very unlike any of my other recordings in that regard, but the results are just fantastic. Keep your eyes on the gigs page as we are now working on putting together some concerts to promote the new recording.
